Director JOANNA ROSE BERRYMAN currently works as a High School Spanish Teacher in Houston, Texas.  She began salsa dancing in 2002 with lessons at a Chicago dance studio.  After moving back to Houston in the summer of 2002, her passion for salsa quickly grew as she began to interact with the talent in the area.  In November of 2002, she performed in K’Yuco’s 2nd Year Anniversary Event as a part of the training group K’Yuco Krew. 

In the winter of 2004, after some prodding from high school students who had heard of her passion for salsa dancing, Joanna started teaching salsa for free as an extracurricular activity.  In the spring of 2004, the group performed for the first time as Salseros Con Ritmo Dance Company at the Texas Salsa Open 2004. 

Joanna has continued volunteering her time with the dance company over the last couple of years because of her passion for this amazing dance named salsa and her love for inspiring youth.  She believes that by working with the youth in her community to teach them to express themselves through dance she will help to nurture their SOUL, provide them with COURAGE, and inspire them to feel the positive RHYTHM within themselves!
